Senior Associate Scientist (Tarrytown, NY) Regeneron
Pharmaceuticals, Inc. seeks a Senior Associate Scientist
(Tarrytown, NY) to develop and characterize cellular and animal
models to test novel therapeutics. Collect disease-relevant tissue
from animal models of neurodegenerative disease and downstream
processing including biochemical analysis, tissue sectioning,
immunohistochemistry, and microscopy. Design and implement
cell-based assays, and other novel technologies to better
understand the mechanisms of neurodegeneration. Analyze and
evaluate data. Participate in research studies designed to
understand the biology behind various neurodegenerative diseases,
such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Present data both internally
and externally, and participate in discussions in collaborative,
cross-functional team environment. Local telecommuting permitted up
to 1 day per week. SALARY RANGE: $79,100.00 - $129,100.00 per year
Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelors degree in Biology, Molecular
Biology, Neuroscience, Biotechnology or related field and 1 year of
experience in the biotechnology industry. Must have experience
with: Supporting the development and characterization of novel
cellular and mouse models of neurological and neurodegenerative
disease; Handling of neonatal and adult mice with practical
understanding of mouse anatomy; Intracerebroventricular (ICV)
injection of adeno-associated virus (AAV) into neonatal mouse pups;
Mouse dissection including microdissection of sub-regions of CNS
tissue; Processing cell and tissue samples for various biochemical
analysis including Western blot analysis, automated capillary gel
electrophoresis systems such as ProteinSimple Wes and PeggySue
systems, ELISA, and MSD; DNA and RNA isolation and real-time
quantitative PCR (qPCR) analysis; Downstream processing of mouse
tissue, encompassing sectioning, immunostaining,
immunohistochemistry, and advanced microscopy techniques, including
confocal imaging and high-throughput plate reader systems such as
OperaPhoenix; Utilizing in vitro cell culture systems, including
both transformed cell lines and human induced pluripotent stem
cells (iPSCs), with particular emphasis on their cultivation and
differentiation into neuronal lineages; Conducting data analysis
and evaluation using software such as Halo, GraphPad Prism,
Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; and Compiling data into
presentation formats, presenting work both internally and
externally and actively contributing to collaborative,
cross-functional team discussions. Apply at
