Overview
SMBC Capital Markets, Inc. is an interest rates derivatives trading
company based in New York City, with offices in London and Hong
Kong. We are a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation
(SMBC), one of the leading global banks in Japan. Our Capital
Markets business is an established derivatives dealer with a broad
product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rates and
foreign exchange. We have been in operation for more than 30 years
and we are a leading market-maker in several markets.
The Settlements Specialist (Analyst) will be immersed in a
fast-paced environment in daily settlement processing involving
post trade and pre-settlement reconciliation including the
following products: FX, Currency Swaps, USD Treasury and CAD
Treasury.
TheTreasury Settlements and Margin Group handles operations for
Capital Markets. This ranges from management of cash and liquidity,
the settlement cycle of all products across Capital Markets and
collateralization. Settlements isa fast-paced environment in daily
settlement processing in FX, Interest rate swaps, Caps,
non-deliverable FX and swaps as well securities including US
Treasuries and Canadian Treasuries. The team actively manages pre
and post settlement inquiries while monitoring settlement risk.
There is a focus on staying current with industry standards and
regulations and an emphasis on related projects including the
upcoming SOFR transition and transitioning to MX messaging through
ISO20022.
This position will be located in our White Plains, NY office
This posiition is also a temporary position for a few months.
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $64,000 and
$80,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based
on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of
the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for
similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible
for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash

Responsibilities
The Settlements Specialist will report directly to the manager of
Settlements.
Daily processes will include pre-settlement reconciliation and
confirmation with an emphasis on awareness and monitoring of
settlement risk.
Payment Processing for USD and FX. Payment Instruction
Confirmation. USD and CAD Treasury Trade Confirmation, Input and
Clearance.
The Settlements Specialist will also be involved with broker fee
reconciliation and payment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics,
or Mathematics.
2-5 years of relevant Settlements experience required.
Settlements payment investigations and Swift experience a plus.
Team player ability with good analytical skills and attention to
detail; time management skills and ability to multi-task in a
fast-paced environment.
