Our civil engineering practice works with public and private clients throughout the entire lifecycle of a project.
AKRF is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Director with a minimum of 10 years of experience to support our Engineering team in our White Plains office. This individual will serve a key function in leading the design and management of a broad range of projects for both our municipal and private sector clients. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of New York. -
Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • 10-15 years of experience
  • NYS PE required
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and overseeing junior staff
  • Able to manage both technical and financial elements of a project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency in managing staff working in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is essential
  • Lead project communication and coordinate with clients and other engineers and consultants;
  • Lead/Manage the design and production of plans/specifications/deliverables
  • Manage project schedule and budget

    Additionally, the potential candidate should possess proficiency in one or more of the following areas:
    Land Development Site Engineering:

    • Manage large scale site plan preparation for land development projects including site layout, grading and drainage, stormwater management, utilities, etc;
    • Prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
    • Manage local site plan approval process and attend public meetings
    • Develop permit packages for state, county and local agencies
    • Oversee construction administration services

      Municipal Engineering:

      • Review site plan applications on behalf of local Planning Boards
      • Attend Planning Board meetings
      • Manage discrete tasks for municipalities in a Town/Village Engineer capacity

        Roadway Engineering:

        • Working knowledge of roadway design including alignments, grading and drainage, utility relocation, water main, sewer, and MPT
        • Experience with NYSDOT is a plus
        • Experience with MicroStation is a plus

          Compensation will range from $110,000 to $160,000.
          Applicants are required to have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, as well as a current Professional Engineer's license (PE). - Applicants with a NYS PE are preferred; however, applicants with PE Licensure in other states will be required to obtain NYS Licensure within 6-12 months of hire.
