The ERP Lead Developer is responsible for serving as an interface
between business requirement and technical implementation in NYPA's
ERP system, SAP. This role will collaborate with various business
areas and assist in implementing business processes in
ERP/Portal/BW systems. This role will drive the implementation of
HANA technology and works closely with developers on the
development of standards, methodologies, and guidelines pertaining
to application development. This will include, application design,
configuration management, design patterns, deployment procedures,
data integrity, and security. #LI-JP1
Responsibilities
Facilitate the delivery and support of the development portion of
projects/programs within specified functional area(s) including ISU
Billing Materials Management, FICO, project systems etc.
Oversee all development aspects including reports, interfaces,
conversion programs, database design and creation and
enhancements.
Assist in implementing new business configuration or
troubleshooting issues with existing configuration
Collaborate with SAP Business Stakeholders to identify, design, and
implement internal process improvements such as automating manual
processes and optimizing development process etc.
Partner closely with SAP security team and SAP Basis team to
implement proper controls to secure code, data and maintain
integrity of SAP landscape.
Drive the planning, analysis, designing, requirements definition,
functional design, development, testing, training, and
implementation of IT solutions for multiple complex and concurrent
projects.
Collaborate with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to
understand business requirements and systems goals, and identify
and resolve business systems issues.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing
systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging
SAP systems.
Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts when
required
Generate SAP scripting and query where applicable
Conduct research on software products in order to make
recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A thorough understanding of ERP functions and technology
Familiarity with SAP Portal development, ABAP, Business Warehouse,
SAP UI5/Fiori, JAVA web-dynpro, SaaS solutions.
Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
Experience with the functional configuration of ERP
SAP HANA Implementation experience
Familiarity with SAP Cloud Analytics
Superior strategic thinking and troubleshooting skills
An understanding of Coding and Developmental Standards
Fluency in the process of Implementation Methodology
Experience leading project teams and implementation of ERP system
or modules
Ability to influence business stakeholders and technical teams to
achieve best results and automation
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the
ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of
customers, partners, and colleagues
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree required. MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or a
related field preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of IT/software development experience with a
focus on planning, analyzing, designing, developing, testing,
implementing, documenting, and training in a variety of SAP areas
(preferably ISU Billing, FICO and project system).
Programming experience using a variety of languages and
technologies (preferably ABAP/4, SAP UI5/Fiori, SAP BI/BW, Data
Warehouses, C, C++, JAVA, HTML, JSP, J2EE, SQL, Oracle)
Project management experience preferred
Physical Requirements
New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair,
competitive, and market-informed compensation. The target salary
range for this position is:$135,000 - $170,000. Salary offered will
be determined based the successful candidates' relevant experience,
knowledge, skills, and abilities.
