We are a workplace where each person feels seen, heard, and valued, and can contribute their unique talent to our collective effort.The Label & Packaging Designer is responsible for creating, updating and implementing all packaging artwork (labels, retail ready packaging, cartons, etc) for Alchemee products (previously The Proactiv Company). He/She will also support the cross-functional teams for implementation of new packaging (bottles, tubes, cartons, etc), Designer supports the new product development team for new product design development, and works with brand team and supply chain to update existing packaging labels eg to make changes to part numbers, graphics, claimsThe ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is experienced at multitasking projects, assisting in planning-related tasks, and has an eagerness to learn and grow. This person must have strong analytical skills, be comfortable with challenging the status quo of current processes and provide solutions to drive efficiencies, display a strong sense of ownership and be committed to their work.Essential Functions

  • Designer will coordinate production schedules, provide concepts, complete layouts and manage the production process to ensure delivery of the highest quality creative work that will meet or exceed the expectations of internal customers.
  • Design and execute primary and secondary product packaging for existing and new product development projects.
  • Work closely with package development members to complete creative pieces, including interpreting briefs, providing concepts and presenting to internal customers.
  • Manage routing process, incorporating feedback from internal clients and proactively resolving issues as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with associates, while working on multiple projects simultaneously, to provide accurate and timely delivery of high-quality creative work.
  • Pre-flight projects, including review of proofs, color correction and production changes.
  • Attend press checks to ensure brand and quality standards are met.
  • Research and purchase stock photography when required.
  • Proactively communicate status of projects to keep others well informed.
  • Use design software to produce graphic arts and visual materials, presentation materials, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Possess the communication skills needed to interact with clients, enabling the designer to reproduce artwork in line with the client's needs.
  • Collect documents and send to the printer as needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with external suppliers and internal customers.
  • Monitor industry trends and apply learning to creative work.
  • Monitor and track reasons for delays in delivering artwork.
  • Additional duties may be assigned. Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Bachelors degree in Design, Visual Arts, Packaging or similar discipline is required. OTC packaging experience a benefit.
    • Must be proficient in a Macintosh environment using Adobe CS5 programs Illustrator,
    • Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Professional and InDesign.
    • 3-5 years experience in a labeling design/production role.
    • Strong vendor relationships.
    • Proven ability to work with multiple external agencies.
    • Excellent design skills demonstrating knowledge of visual design principals; graphic design, layout, typography, color and branding.
      • Experience with or strong interest in product packaging.
      • Independent thinker, able to create with minimal supervision.
      • Strong project management skills with ability to effectively prioritize.
      • Knowledge of 4- color process from concept to production.
      • Knowledge of print production and pre-flighting process.
      • Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and on multiple projects.
      • Candidate must possess problem-solving skills to creatively resolve issues that arise.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Strong judgment and problem-solving ability.
