to: Pathology OfficeManagerPosition SummaryResponsible for
assisting pathologists with reporting needs such as transcribing,
integrating reference lab reports in to LIS, addendums, amendments,
etc. following departmental policies.Essential Functions and
Responsibilities Includes the Following:1. Understands and adheres
to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.2. Types
medical dictation of Pathology, Cytology, and Autopsy reports.3.
Verifies correct ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes on Pathology reports.4.
Enters and verifies PQRS codes on Pathology reports.5. Proofreads
and edits all information pertaining to patient's specimen,
clinical history, etc.6. Types intra-operative reports in to LIS.7.
Types addendums on Surgical Pathology and Cytology reports.8. Types
amendments on Surgical Pathology and Cytology reports.9. Types
letters for pathologists' consultations.10. Types documents as
directed by Medical Director and/or Pathologists.11. Types
reference lab reports from reference lab websites.12. Creates and
edits all canned text for gross and microscopic dictation.13.
Assists with revising SOP's as directed by Pathology Supervisor.14.
Create and revises documents/charts as it relates to the department
needs.15. Scans all prognostic tumor marker reports, outside
consultation reports, reference lab reports, etc.16. Accessions
Pathology specimens as needed.17. Reviews outstanding case reports
and alert pathologists of information related to pending cases to
meet TAT guidelines.18. Performs all other related duties as
assigned by the Medical Director/Pathologists and/or Supervisor.19.
Handles Faxes and Phone calls.Education & Experience
Requirements---High School Diploma.---College or Business School
graduate preferred.---Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and
physiology, clinical medicine, diagnostic tests and knowledge
ofEnglish grammar, spelling and punctuation; proficient in the use
of word processing, dictation and transcription equipment.---A
minimum of one year of transcription experience.Core

Environment---May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform
required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed

Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at
the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.---Must be able to remain
stationary for extended periods of time.---Requires frequent use of
