Overview The Head of Procurement Operations will report into the Regional Chief Procurement Officer and will manage a team of procurement operations analysts. Key Procurement objectives include: • Increase purchasing power & leverage across SMBC businesses and regions

• Improve vendor/supplier governance and performance management

• Centralize and automate back-office procurement, contract management and invoicing operations to drive cost and operational efficiency

• Reduce vendor/supplier related legal, regulatory, financial and operational risk to the Firm

• Drive significant and sustainable savings across businesses

• Maximize visibility and control of vendor/supplier spend across businesses and regions

The Head of Procurement Operations will lead a centralized shared services team in support of day-to-day procurement operations for SMBC businesses across the Americas Division. The Procurement Operations team will support a wide range of activities across the source-to-pay lifecycle to ensure the timely delivery of quality goods/services to SMBC businesses and in alignment with category and buying channel strategies and operational procedures. Day-to-day Procurement Operations will include the following: • Vendor/supplier onboarding

• Sourcing tasks/administration

• Contract execution support

• Invoice exception processing

• Procurement tools, templates, and technology management and support

• Project, change management and training support

• Procurement scorecards, dashboards, reporting & analytics

Responsibilities Develop and maintain procurement scorecards, dashboards, reporting & analytics

Develop and maintain procurement processes, policies, procedures, tools and templates to ensure compliance, best practices and sourcing excellence for all procurement processes

Implementation and support of direct buying channels i.e. shopping catalogues, P-Cards, etc.

Oversight and support of procurement tools, templates, and technologies

Support Procurement project execution and change management efforts

Improve programs (i.e. supplier management, supplier diversity etc.) within the department to continuously improve performance and value to the organization

Partner with business users and leadership to identify opportunities to improve procurement processes

Conduct benchmarking and communicate understanding of ‘best in class’ industry practices, as well as action plans on how to transition the department to a world class operating state

Qualifications Proven track record leading business process re-engineering activities to reduce end to end non-value activities and total cost ownership experience

Execution focused while being strategically oriented

Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust across the organization

Change management/influencing skills; ability to build relationships and credibility; facilitate working sessions with large and small internal teams and external stakeholders

Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into decision making

Project management: able to set/change agendas, deliver increased performance levels and routinely implementing improvements across multiple activities

Experience and exposure to different project and change methodologies, e.g. Waterfall, Agile

Drive a culture of continuous improvement and transformation

Experience and exposure to different procurement source-to-pay technologies

Lean Six Sigma principles for continuous improvement
