Responsibilities Evaluating and determining the liability and eligibility for initial and ongoing disability benefits. Will be required to effectively manage claims of varying complexity. A Senior Claim Associate is expected to be able to effectively manage a case load of approximately 125 to 160 claims. Ability to also adjudicate HIP, Office Overhead and Critical Illness claims. Excellent customer service skills are required as well as the ability to effectively communicate with physicians, attorneys, administrators and claimants verbally and in writing. Must be able to accurately interpret policy provisions and apply such provisions appropriately to each claim situation. Solid problem-solving skills are necessary. Strong research skills are necessary when managing complex claims. Utilize appropriate resources in the management of each claim. Meet timeliness standards in relation to communications and claim management activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or 5-7 years of disability claims experience.
