Job Description
The Animal Health IT Advanced Analytics team is searching for a data scientist proficient in computer vision and eager to engage in other fields of data science and AI. Our team supports Animal Health across all business areas: research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and others. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects and collaborate with divisional data scientists, fostering a community of learning, challenge, and inspiration. We are shaping the Animal Health Data Science and AI strategy, serving as a community facilitator, and helping non-technical colleagues to understand data science and AI better.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead delivery of computer vision, image processing, and other machine learning projects.
  
• Work on technical pilots and feasibility studies to create value, transitioning successful pilots to scalable production.
  
• Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  
• Understand the business context and align tools and decisions with stakeholder expectations.
  
• Participate in professional communities and mentor colleagues to enhance AI and data science maturity.
  
• Mentor junior colleagues from a technical perspective.
  
  Candidate Profile:
  We seek candidates with a strong technical background and collaborative skills. Qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Physics, or Bioinformatics are valued. Experience/skills include:
  
  
• At least 5 years in AI, machine learning, or data science.
  
• Understanding of machine learning research in computer vision and ability to review research publications.
  
• Effective communication of technical concepts to senior stakeholders.
  
• Hands-on coding experience with Python scientific stacks.
  
• Knowledge of image processing libraries like OpenCV, deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet.
  
• Experience with rapid prototyping tools like Matlab and FIJI/ImageJ.
  
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure is a plus.
  
• Domain knowledge in pharmaceutical areas is a plus.
  
• Full stack web development and UX knowledge are beneficial.
  
• Master's or PhD in relevant fields preferred.
