Job Description:
Overview
Flexjet, a leading, private aviation company, is currently seeking
a qualified candidate to join our Supply Chain team as a Materials
Support Specialist! This position is responsible for carrying out
the day-to-day operations including problem-solving and
decision-making support to ensure the tactical and strategic
execution of support for the Maintenance department is
accomplished. Additionally, this position will provide analytical
assistance in determining parts requirements for our aircraft;
sourcing and movement of repairable parts; inventory usage and
condition analysis. The Material Support Specialist reports
directly to the Line Stores Manager.
Responsibilities
- Ensure supplier and delivery commitments are met through
continuous follow up regarding order status, vendor performance,
and resolve problems regarding quality and supply as
required
- Determine part numbers required by maintenance for non-routine
and routine work
- Parts ordering, parts receiving, shipping, packaging,
maintaining inventory control and integrity
- Work as a liaison between: Purchasing, Stores, and the
Maintenance Operations Control Center and update as
required
- Coordinate internal part movements for AOG (Aircraft on Ground)
situations
- Identify interchangeable parts and update the parts catalog to
ensure 100% accuracy
- Maintain detailed records to include all pertinent information
for each request
- By utilizing min/max levels, maintain acceptable inventory of
parts to support company operational requirements
- Maintain accounting and order system to ensure that proper
approval levels are utilized
- Perform incoming inspection of parts and materials before items
are placed in stock or issued for use on aircraft
- Monitor time sensitive shelf life controlled items.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by
Manager
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college
or technical school; or two years of relevant experience; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous Airline / Aviation Experience desired
- Previous purchasing and/or inventory experience
- API CS and NAPM certification desired
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self directed,
proactive individual who works effectively under pressure and time
constraints with the ability to multi-task and work within a team
environment
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills,
professionalism, and fanatical attention to detail
- Required to meet deadlines, must be comfortable prioritizing
tasks, demonstrate flexibility, display a strong work ethic, and
sense of urgency
- Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows
and MS Office programs
- Strong organization skills with the ability to obtain a high
level of familiarity quickly
- Must be able to perform very detailed work, with proficiency in
analyzing and understanding technical manuals and
documents
- Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends and overtime
as required
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
