Our White Plains practice is seeking a Chief CRNA to be the informed leader of the CRNA Staff, responsible for managing performance, education, and anesthesia delivery. This individual acts as a liaison between anesthesia and all hospital departments, managing resources and promoting quality anesthesia care. Some key responsibilities and accountabilities include: Attend and represent nurse anesthesia and AAMN at hospital functions, meetings and committees in collaboration with the Chairman of Anesthesiology and/or Perioperative Medical Directors. Establish relationships and maintain communication with CRNAs, hospital departments, and American Anesthesiology, and physicians/surgeons. Develop and maintain quality improvement processes for anesthesia, including setting practice expectations from quality reviews and critical event reviews. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the anesthesia department; escalate and be accountable for issues to the Chairman of Anesthesiology. Finalize and approve policies, procedures, and job descriptions annually in collaboration with the Chairman of Anesthesiology. Assess staff utilization and identify departmental staffing needs in collaboration with the Perioperative Medical Directors and Chairman of Anesthesiology. Monitor CRNA conduct and clinical performance; undertake annual staff evaluations, initiate and document performance improvement processes and/or disciplinary action when warranted in collaboration with Chairman of Anesthesiology, Human Resources, and Practice Director. Work closely with Corporate Recruiter/Clinical Staffing to identify potential candidates for employment including working with local and national nurse anesthesia programs. Interview, select, and hire qualified personnel and initiate American Anesthesiology and hospital credentialing process for new hires. Communicate and resolve issues and concerns from the staff members in collaboration with Chairman of Anesthesiology and Corporate Medical Director as appropriate. Qualifications: In addition to the qualifications noted in the CRNA position description, the Chief CRNA must possess the following: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a CRNA. Full time employment. Minimum education - Master of Science. Previous management experience required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must possess fluency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.
