Ensures safe and effective care delivery within assigned area(s)
24/7. Manages all material, financial, and human resources within
assigned areas(s). Ensures competent staff performance and promotes
staff development. Acts as the primary retention and recruitment
officer for the unit. Complies with and supports hospital and
clinical services philosophies, policies, procedures, and
protocols. Job Duties Ensures the delivery of quality patient care
in assigned area(s). Demonstrates full responsibility and
accountability for all unit activities. Fosters accountability of
staff for adherence to policy/procedures/professional practice.
Manages staff in designated area(s). Assumes the role of primary
retention and recruitment officer for the unit. Coaches and mentors
staff in the attainment of goals and identified needs. Collaborates
with other appropriate stakeholders in the short and long range
planning for the department, Patient Care Services, and/or
organization. Administrators medical staff; develops and achieves
goals for the department and/or services which are measurable, time
limited, and consistent with the mission, strategic plan, and
quality improvement plans of the hospital. Promotes the development
and enhancement of a Shared Governance Model on the unit by
establishing/fostering unit committees and councils. Ensures, at a
minimum, the active functioning of unit committees aimed at
practice/quality, staffing, and scheduling. Promotes and develops
personal and professional growth and development of self and
clinical services staff. Manages the financial aspects of the
department(s), remaining within target and accounting for variances
from budget. Supports, enforces, and complies with hospital and
Patient Care Services philosophy, policies, procedures, and
protocols. Adheres and educates staff on all regulatory
requirements regarding privacy, patient safety, and goals (OSHA,
HIPAA, TJC, ADA, etc.). Holds staff accountable for adherence to
the same. Promotes and facilitates evidence-based practice and
research. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in nursing or 3
years of recent experience in practice specialty or related
specialty, with demonstrated leadership abilities. RN - Licensed
Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire Preferred
Qualifications Master's Degree in nursing Physical Demands Lift and
carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher
(requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of
the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care
providers may be required to perform activities specific to their
role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR. Job
