About This Role:
HUSA imports over 65,000 containers and delivers over 65,000 truckloads to our distributors annually. This role will be responsible for end-to-end logistics and supply chain performance, including vendor (3PL/4PL) performance, in which they will work closely with our vendors to ensure our service and costs goals are met. Additionally, this role will have a high level of cross-functional focus with colleagues inside the HUSA Operations group. The Logistics Manager will be a subject-matter expert and will lead project teams to drive KPI performance. They will manage an area of the business with spend upwards of $150M annually and ensure the proper controls are in place to enable daily executional success. The Heineken USA Operations Team aims at strategically supporting business growth and delivering value through the operational execution of supply chain activities. Operations is responsible for all supply chain activities including: demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory management, customer services and logistics. Key Duties & Responsibilities The role is focused on operational execution and the tasks necessary to ensure effective logistics solutions are in place to meet the needs of the business. The role will be required to achieve the following deliverables, including but not limited to: Daily Control System/Execution (35%):
--- Supports the execution of the Warehouse and Logistics strategy
--- Responsibility End-2-End for Logistics Supply Chain performance and execution
--- Hands-on daily responsibility for day-to-day, finger-on-the-pulse of operations and executional excellence
--- Highly cross-functional with internal stakeholders including customer service and supply planning managers
--- Supports Director of Logistics in delivering targets and strategies related to strategic projects and initiatives
--- Leads 'Huddles' and Daily Control System (DCS) meetings, identifies issues and actions needing to be taken
--- Anticipates and resolves day-to-day issues, completes root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and problem solving
--- Effectively communicates relevant information and issues proactively across the HUSA Operations Team
--- Responsible for developing and maintaining Logistics SOP's, process mapping, instructions and guidelines
--- Maintains current knowledge of the Logistics market, trends and insights Distributor Support (25%):
--- Supports Director of Customer Service in the Customer Value Pillar, leads initiatives cross-functionally
--- Drives initiatives to provide premium, segmented service to our top distributors (Mega 7)
--- Provides face-2-face contact with Distributors, point-person on logistics issues and bridges gaps
--- Weekly discussions with top Distributors to support service, discuss open issues and ensure resolution
--- Travels to Distributors, partnering with Customer Service and Sales, to ensure needs are met Vendor Management (25%):
--- Ownership for vendor relationship at a tactical level including point-of-contact for day-to-day activities
--- Responsibility for Vendor performance to KPI's and business objectives
--- Establishes KPI's, metrics and control systems to manage performance to objectives
--- Manages contact plan with Vendors and holds daily, weekly and QBR meetings
--- Ensures Heineken best practices are being utilized throughout all areas of the operation
--- Leads projects with Vendors to improve cost, service, safety, reporting and insights
--- Maintains a record of open issues and holds Vendors accountable for resolution Project Management (15%):
--- Leads Logistics projects and is the subject-matter expert (SME) to support other functional projects
--- Holds self and project teams accountable for deliverables and execution to project goals
--- Clearly identifies the problem statement, scope, criteria for success and methodology to utilize
--- Uses continuous improvement methodology: RFCA, 5-why, Ishikawa, Kaizen, Value-Stream Mapping Business Relationships
--- Enable mutually beneficial business relationships through needs identification and the delivery of business requirements
--- Collaborate with business Stakeholders to identify and resolve any critical issues impacting the business
--- Includes both key internal and external relationships with:
--- Heineken USA - Key business functions including Operations, Finance, Sales, Legal, IT, and others
--- Distributors - Key relationships within the Distributor Network
--- Other Stakeholders - i.e. Logistics Vendors Core Skills:
--- Results driven with a proven track-record for executional excellence
--- Established leadership capabilities, with the ability to drive results in others
--- Detail oriented with a strong work-ethic and accountability, self-starter
--- Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously
--- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, team player
--- Strong analytical skills including excel
--- Entrepreneurial approach with a continuous improvement mind-set Background & Experience:
--- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or other relevant field is required
--- 7+ year's Logistics Experience preferably within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and Alcohol Beverage Industry
--- Experience in leading and motivating cross-functional Teams required
--- Knowledge of SAP, Excel and any other relevant Supply Chain / Logistics Tools required
--- Knowledge of Logistics Operations end to end (including but not limited to Ocean, Over-The-Road Transportation, Rail, Customs and Warehousing) preferred Heineken Leadership Expectations:
