Job Description:

A health services organization in Westchester County is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their staff as their new Assistant Nurse Manager - Operation Room. In this role, the Assistant Nurse Manager will be responsible for accountable for the overall operations of the Operating Room and assuring the delivery of quality department / clinical services in accordance with established hospital and regulatory/accreditation agency standards.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Nurse Manager - Operation Room will be responsible for:

• Management of FTE component of staffing budgets
• Maintaining 24 hour responsibility for nursing care provided on the unit
• Participating in the development of Evidence based Standards of care for clinical area of responsibility
• Assuring that employee competency and education requirements are satisfied as per hospital policy
• Participating in the Performance Improvement Program as defined by the organization and the Division of Nursing
• Conducting, interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling, and terminating employees as per hospital policy.
• Scheduling staff based on budgeted staffing plan and department needs
• Attending and participating in educational programs or activities to maintain current level of knowledge or expertise to manage department
• Conducting staff meetings monthly to update staff and/or address department issues and records meeting minutes for all staff
• Performing all other related duties, as assigned Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Acute Care experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • ACLS and BLS certifications Desired Skills:
    • Certification in area of specialty or Certified Nurse Manager & Leader (CNML) obtained within 3 years of hire date
    • Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management
