Pernod Ricard USA is looking for an innovative, entrepreneurially minded individual to take ownership and be the driving force behind Smithworks, an American Made Vodka brand, created in 2016. - This role provides significant opportunity for leadership and ownership as the primary responsibilities are proactively identifying growth opportunities across the brand, leading brand projects, including strategy development, innovation/packaging launches and creative asset development. Other responsibilities to include, but are not limited to, building digitally driven consumer programs that drive conversation and conversion, translating strategy into experiential and customer programs, and budget management. - This role will provide an exciting opportunity to become the custodian Smithworks within Pernod Ricard USA. The ideal candidate should have proven experience managing new-to-the world brands. You should consider joining us if you are consumer focused with an entrepreneurial spirit, passionate about the drinks industry and want to make an impact. - Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities: Strategic Planning: Own and deliver the annual operating plans. Lead development of the brand strategy, partnering with Brand Engagement, Activation Teams, and Brand Companies to develop locally relevant breakthrough consumer (communications, strategy, innovations, packaging) and customer programs. Entrepreneurial Mindset: Develop, deliver, and iterate plans continuously with a resourceful, obsessive, and fearless mindset with a focus on proving the case for brand expansion. Agile: Results-orientation and ability to operate with agility to run with test and learn approach. Competitive Analysis and Implications: Collaborate with insights team to drive opportunity analysis for priority brands including regularly tracking competitive activities. Asset Development: Develop brand assets by collaborating with global brand companies and brand engagement teams. Lead asset management in close collaboration with Engagement, Activation, and Brand Company. Innovation: Manage innovation launches, brand packaging design, and new product development. Will collaborate with Brand Activation, Business Planning & Analysis, and Field Sales Teams to ensure successful launches of innovation. "--Advertising & Promotions' Budget Management: Lead the management of the budgets (Annual Planning and continuous management) and conduct ROI on brand activity. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - /Nature & Scope: Position typically works with members of the Headquarters Marketing Department, sales management, agency services personnel, and various vendor representatives. Additionally, this role requires strong project management skills, as there would be a significant leadership role expected and the ability to work across multiple brands and categories. Communication can include sensitive information requiring complete confidentiality and discretion in dealings with contacts. Plans activities for this position monthly with individual initiative in daily routine. Decisions impact the group and organization as a whole and errors can cause significant expense to the entire organization. - Competencies: Education: Minimum of bachelor's degree - preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, Masters in business or marketing preferred; Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience / Background: Between 8 to 12 years of marketing experience and between 5 to 7 years of brand management experience Required Skills/Competencies: Solid experience in strategy/brand development, including brand positioning and brand building activities. Strong financial / business acumen Strong digital acumen with focus on celebrity influencer, social media, and eCRM Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as outstanding aptitude for time management. Thoroughness, creativity, interpersonal awareness, relationship management and influencing skills as well as proficiencies in problem solving, and the ability to multitask are requirements. Spirits industry experience is strongly preferred Must have strong financial acumen and demonstrated ability to manage budgets Must have strong project management experience with demonstrated ability to leading initiatives from seed to execution Must have people leadership experience including the ability to coach and develop others - Working Conditions: This role is based in New York City, NY Approximately 25% travel to field locations
