Together! Key Elements Of The Role : Assist in the design,
construction, inspection, and maintenance of public works projects.
Prepare engineering plans, cost estimates, and material quantities
for improvements. Conduct load studies and recommend upgrades to
County electrical services. Act as a resident electrical engineer
on construction projects, ensuring compliance with specifications.
Supervise inspections and maintain up-to-date electrical drawings,
specifications, and equipment instructions. Investigate and address
faulty operations of electrical equipment to ensure proper
functionality. What You Bring : Strong understanding of electrical
engineering principles, construction specifications, and
engineering drafting. Proficiency in technical computations, cost
estimation, and the use of engineering instruments. Ability to
write and interpret technical specifications, plans, and
construction documents. Strong problem-solving skills and the

Sponsorship is not available for this role Salary: $59,038 per year
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OPEN COMPETITIVE Either : a) Graduation from
a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration
by NY State with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or
Mechanical Engineering, and two (2) years of experience in design
and/or installation of electrical systems and equipment; or b)
Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a
high school equivalency diploma and six (6) years of experience in
design and/or installation of electrical systems and equipment; or
c) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined
by the limits of a) and b). FURTHER POSITION DETAILS: Thorough
knowledge of construction specifications and of their application
to public works Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and
instruments used in engineering drafting Through knowledge of
mathematics and application to electrical engineering computation
Good knowledge of the principles and practices of electrical
engineering skill in the use of engineering instruments and
equipment Ability to perform difficult technical computations to
make estimates and tests, and to compile engineering data and
statistics Ability to make difficult and technical engineering
drawings Ability to write technical engineering specifications
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and gain
compliance with specifications in a tactful and impartial manner
Ability to supervise assistants in a manner conducive to full
performance and high morale Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with contractors and the general

appointment, which occurs only in the competitive class, is a
temporary appointment to a position for which no eligible list
exists or for which an eligible list exists with fewer than three
candidates who are willing to accept the position. In order to
become permanent, the employee who is provisionally appointed must
take the next examination for the position in question. The
appointment to the position is then made from among the three
highest scoring passing candidates who indicate their willingness
