SummaryCivil/Structural Engineer II provides civil and structural engineering expertise to support operations, maintenance, and capital improvements at--company's--plants and facilities.--Major practice areas include:--civil engineering, specifically dam safety, hydroelectric power facilities, geotechnical and marine/maritime structures. Specific skill requirements in design engineering for dams, gates, water retaining structures for typical hydropower facilities are needed.--Proficient in wave analysis, dam stability analysis, water resources and some modeling or ability to analyze model results. Civil/Structural Engineer II specific for this team:Writing and preparing legal documents, technical reports and emergency management procedures for state and federal government requirements.Communicating and interfacing with several different levels of experience and personality types, and represent company as an owner's agent with other government agencies. Working with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in the hydropower division.--Working knowledge of dam safety, Part 12D inspections, Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), Dam Safety Surveillance and Monitoring Plans and Reports (DSSMPs/DSSMRs)ResponsibilitiesIndependently evaluates, selects and adapts standard techniques, procedures and criteria.Designs a complete project.Prepares complete project documents.Formulates and solves problems.Interfaces with other disciplines and support groups to solidify project goals and achieve technically integrated deliverables.Participates in multidisciplinary engineering--projects of moderate to high complexity.--Leads multidisciplinary engineering teams to complete basic projects.Receives general direction on key objectives.Receives guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems.Assigns tasks to and directs work of designers, drafters and technicians.Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.Interfaces with internal clients and stakeholders.Assists with preparing scopes of work and requests for proposals for outside consultants.Reviews work of outside consultants and other in-house engineers.Inspects, plans, analyzes, designs, and prepares detailed construction drawings and specifications.Prepares technical reports.Provides engineering support during construction.
