A Day in the Life of the Broadband Network Technician I: Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages in aerial and/or underground capacities related to transmission levels, signal losses and off-air interference. Prepare and perform emergency aerial and/or underground coaxial cable restoration due to variables such as cable breaks and/or damage Perform preventative maintenance (power supply, actives) in the form of testing, balancing, alignment and adjustments of components or equipment Monitor, record and repair cable leakage, complying with applicable regulations Observe and assist co-workers with fiber splicing activities Complete and distribute required documentation, such as work orders and daily logs Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation Other duties as assigned What You Bring to the Table: Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: 2 years (telecom technician) Maintain satisfactory driving record and have a valid driver's license Customer Service Communication (verbal, written) Basic Computer Skills Aptitude to learn to skills Problem solving Time Management Teamwork Working alone Ability to read and interpret maps Bucket Certified; Ohm’s Understand the Outside Plant Knowledge of Ladder; Hand or Power Tools We're Proud to Offer a Comprehensive Benefits Package Including: 401k retirement plan, with employer match Insurance options including: medical, dental, vision, life and STD insurance Paid Time Off/Vacation: Starting at 80 hours per year, and increases based on tenure with the organization Floating Holiday: 40 hours per year Paid Holidays: 7 days per year Paid Sick Leave: Astound allows a number of paid sick hours per calendar year and varies based on state and/or local laws Tuition reimbursement program Employee discount program *Benefits listed above are for regular full-time position The base salary in Pennsylvania for this position is $21.47-$35.73 per hour plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Pennsylvania and may not be applicable to other locations.
