Job Description:

Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste management in the U.S. Northeast, is seeking a skilled B Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of waste collection and handling equipment. This position requires expertise in mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure operational efficiency and safety. As a B Mechanic, you will work closely with our team of skilled professionals in a dynamic, supportive environment, keeping our service commitments to the community and environment top of mind. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on waste collection vehicles and equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Collaborate with other technicians to troubleshoot complex issues. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs. Assist in the training of junior mechanics and support staff. Strong mechanical aptitude Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics Effective communication skills Problem-solving abilities Preferred: ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) Valid driver’s license Any relevant technical training or certifications
