channel is the career Agency sales force of more than 12,000
agents, operating in virtually every major city in the United
States. Every agent is affiliated with one of our 117 General
Offices. These offices are operated by Agency management teams
responsible for agent and management recruiting, development, and
sales. Approximately half our agents operate their businesses out
of our General Offices, while the other half maintains independent
office locations. Our General Offices are divided up among four
Zones. In addition to our Zone offices, an Agency Home Office team
responsible for strategy, finance, administration, standards,
training, marketing and communications supports our agents and
field managers. The Agency operation also comprises teams charged
with growing our business in key market segments, including the
middle-income market, the advanced (high-net-worth) market, select
cultural markets, and the women's markets. Agents sell individual
life insurance, individual annuities, and long-term care insurance
products, as well as mutual funds. Role Overview This position will
promote investment products (i.e, Income Annuities, Variable
Annuities, Fixed Annuities, and Mutual Fund) or Life Insurance or
Long Term Care Insurance sales through New York Life career agency
in specific General Offices (GO). Position will be based in White
Plains, NY and will leverage technology to provide "virtual" based
- Provide necessary training, assistance, and sales support to
agents and General Office Management within assigned
- Responsible for achieving and exceeding the assigned territory
and individual General Office sales objectives by:
- Proactively working with the Sales Managers to strategize and
drive sales-related strategies and tactics for relevant products.
Includes regular interaction and coordination across teams to
ensure alignment on messaging and execution.
- Working remotely through phone calls and web-based
communication tools, proactively work with Managing Partners (MP)
and General Office (GO) management team to strategize and implement
sales-related strategies and tactics. This includes delivering
product sales training to GO management staff through group and
individual development exercises.
- Working remotely through phone calls and web-based
communication tools, work with agents to implement sales strategies
and tactics through education, training and support. Provide
development through virtual individual, group and field-based
instruction. Place outbound phone calls to agents as necessary to
drive sales and provide support on cases.
- Perform planning and administrative tasks.
- Act as liaison between agents, managers, home office staff and
the Zone team.
- As this job is considered "virtual", travel will be limited to
1-2 per quarter or as given travel budget allows for and/or
- Work with Internal Wholesalers to drive production.
- Provide reports on a regular basis of field activity; leverage
CRM tool to track activity.
- Manage expenses within a small budget, largely for occasional
travel as necessary.
- Manage or coordinate special sales projects.
- Participate in quarterly meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Current Series 6, 63 or obtain within 90 days, and Life and
Health Insurance License required
- Insurance industry designations (i.e. CLU, ChFC, CLTC, etc.)
- Ability to effectively convey our priorities and creatively
wholesale our products
- Detailed understanding of the insurance industry and market,
New York Life products and those of our competitors highly desired
