The Position:We are seeking a candidate to join our finance group as our new Senior Accountant, Accounting Policy located in White Plains, NY. As a member of our team, this individual will carry out research and documentation in conjunction with a variety of non-standard transactions, adoption of new accounting standards as well as general corporate accounting matters.The ideal candidate has strong written and oral communication skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to multitask in order to effectively manage his or her time across various roles and responsibilities. In this role, the individual will report to the AVP, Accounting Policy.This is a hybrid position and will be in office 2x per week.Job Responsibilities:Assist in the development and maintenance of group-wide corporate accounting policiesOngoing monitoring of appropriate application of accounting policies at the corporate and subsidiary levelProvide support by researching and determining appropriate accounting policies for significant, new or unusual transactions, and effectively communicate the impact of implementing such policies to senior managementAssisting in the analysis of impacts of new accounting policy developments or unique transactions on the consolidation system structure and the consolidated financial statementsCollaborate with other groups and/or departments to implement new accounting standards and support corporate financial reportingAssist in preparing the 10Q/K financial statements, footnotes and disclosures and supporting schedulesCoordinate with external auditors as part of the annual audit and quarterly review processSupport broader financial reporting team on ad hoc projectsRequired Skills/Experience:3+ years GAAP accounting experience in a similar roleStrong skills in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint; ability to model and create complex spreadsheets, look up tables, pivot tables, and understand/analyze the resultsDesired Skills/Experience:Excellent communication and organization skillsStrong knowledge of financial accounting for financial servicesDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working independently and as part of a teamStatutory accounting experience is a plusEducation:Bachelor's Degree in AccountingCPA requiredThe Company:Arch Capital Group Ltd. is a Bermuda-based company which provides insurance, reinsurance and mortgage insurance on a worldwide basis. Position is incentive eligible.Total individual compensation (base salary, short and long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope and responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability and specialization, as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future.
